ABOUT THE ART
Humans have been using divination as a tool for thousands of years to connect with the vaster intelligence of Life and Consciousness. The FFT is an immersive temple inspired by the traditional I Ching hexagrams, arranged in a wheel according to the Human Design system. It invites participants to ponder what it means to accept change, one’s relationship to free will, and how to accept the illusion of reality (the Maya) itself.
The fish theme asks participants to consider: Fish live in water, yet are unaware they do so. As humans, what is our water? What are the greater forces guiding and shaping our realities?
BUILD DETAILS
The temple is built in accordance with traditional East Asian temple architecture complete with a sweeping curved roof line and cantilevered roof joinery (dǒugǒng). The roof line curvature will interplay organically with the curves and lines of the mountains surrounding BRC. A large ornate mandala contained within the temple's boundaries beckons interaction. The inner wheel of the mandala has all sixty-four hexagrams of the I Ching laid out on its circumference.
Participants are invited to ask a question and spin the wheel to receive an oracle in response to their inquiry. When spun, the sixty-four hexagrams race around the mandala, eventually coming to a natural stop. A microcontroller detects the stopping position of the wheel in a specific hexagram and triggers a reading of it via speakers. Once the reading is complete, the wheel is ready to spin again.
The temple structure is made of precision-crafted wood. The hexagram wheel is made of wood, aluminum, and various electrical and mechanical components. The temple is warmly lit, imparting a solemn and introspective atmosphere while also providing night time safety for the denizens of BRC. The temple measures about 12 feet in height and has a 7 ft hexagonal foot print. The sweeping roof line is about 11 feet across.

they are all perfect because they are What Is.
And what is, can never be wrong.
